应华东交通大学桃红世界永久进站30秒副院长王广富博士的邀请,安徽大学潘向峰教授将于2018年11月14-16日访问华东交通大学,期间将举办专题学术报告.

报告题目：Resistance Distance and Some Relevant Research Directions

摘要：The resistance distance between two vertices of a connected graph is defined as the effective resistance between them when each edge of the graph is replaced by a unit resistor. One might imagine that the "difficulty" of transport from a to b is a measure of distance and further that the "difficulty" decreases the more the number of traffic routes between a and b. As a distance function proposed by D.J. Klein and M. Randić in 1993, the resistance distance is of the characteristic of multiple-route distance diminishment.Resistance distance might be imagined to be more relevant when the communication is wave- or fluid-like.Furthermore, the resistance distance has profound mathematical properties. In this talk, I will introduce the background of resistance distance and some relevant research directions as well as a few of our recent results.

潘向峰教授简介：

潘向峰，安徽大学数学科学学院教授、博士生导师，安徽省学术和技术带头人后备人选，中国运筹学会图论组合学分会第四届理事会青年理事，美国Mathematical Reviews评论员。主要研究方向为图论与组合网络理论。2001年7月-2003年8月在武汉理工大学桃红世界永久进站30秒任教。2006年6月至今在安徽大学任教，2006年晋升副教授，2011年晋升博士生导师、教授。2012年8月至2013年8月在美国得克萨斯州立大学达拉斯分校访学一年。2014年5月至2018年4月担任安徽大学数学科学学院副院长。2006年博士毕业于中国科学技术大学，2001年硕士毕业于华中师范大学，1998年本科毕业于原湘潭师范学院（现为湖南科技大学）。主持完成一项国家自然科学青年项目，参与完成4项国家自然科学基金项目。先后在Discrete Appl. Math.、Linear Algebra Appl.、Linear Multilinear A.和Physica A等学术期刊上合作发表SCI论文20余篇。与他人合作研究成果分别于2013年和2017年两次荣获安徽省自然科学奖三等奖。
